What is this course about? (60 mins)

With the "Great Resignation" sweeping the headlines, research suggests that the top reason for resigning is employees not feeling a sense of belonging at work (McKinsey, 2021). Employees are waking up to the realisation that they deserve to work in organisations and teams that truly value them.

So, what does it mean to feel belonging? What does it look like in today's hybrid teams? How can it be built?

  • An insight into what belonging looks like in hybrid teams and an awareness of why it's so important to the wellbeing, inclusion and productivity of employees

  • An awareness of the challenges of hybrid working which impact inclusion and belonging and how to navigate them e.g. meetings, communication, social connections, exclusion

  • Strategies to inspire both individual and cultural change to build a culture of belonging through three integral areas, the need to feel:

1.Included (covers: how to support introverts/extroverts, managing meetings and effective communication, psychological safety)

  1. Connected (covers: creating purpose, how to align your goals to the bigger picture, intrinsic motivation)

  2. Known (covers: practising gratitude within teams, how to make others feel valued, and having meaningful conversations)
